Bernard Brault: An Inspiration for Winter Sports Enthusiasts

Ski Town Brossard is proud to recognize Bernard Brault, an internationally renowned photographer, as its official ambassador. A prominent figure in sports photography, Bernard Brault embodies both a passion for alpine skiing and a unique artistic mastery that transcends boundaries.

With a career marked by over 400 awards and distinctions across five continents, Bernard Brault is celebrated for his stunning shots in sports, portraits, and reportage. In 1985, he won the first prize in the international competition for the best sports photo in France. Named Photographer of the Year in Canada in 1996 and 2007, he has also received thirteen Antoine Désilets Awards from the Fédération professionnelle des journalistes du Québec (FPJQ). In 2022, he was appointed a member of the Order of Canada in recognition of his exceptional contributions to photography.

At the height of his career, Bernard Brault served as the official photographer for La Presse from 1984 to 2021. His remarkable journey includes covering numerous international competitions, including the Winter Olympics, world championships, and countless iconic winter sports events. With an expert eye and unmatched sense of timing, Bernard Brault captures both the intensity of sporting performances and the magnificence of alpine landscapes.

However, his passion for skiing goes far beyond the professional realm. His connection to Ski Town Brossard and the Trottier family dates back to his childhood when his father worked for Bernard Trottier for about thirty years, sparking his early enthusiasm for alpine skiing. A lover of the mountains of Quebec, Canada, as well as peaks in Europe and Japan, he fully enjoys winter sports.
